The Walking Jerk

The Walking Jerk is a 100% vegan, Caribbean and Hispanic-inspired eatery in Madison owned by Daijah Wade, who launched the business in late 2022. Operating primarily as a takeout counter, the restaurant serves plant-based dishes such as jerk-spiced tacos, vegan steak tacos made with Beyond Meat, and creative Caribbean comfort food inspired by Wade’s personal journey toward plant-based cooking. Located at 2352 S Park Street in the Black Business Hub on Madison’s South Side, The Walking Jerk focuses on feeding the community wholesome, fresh, and flavorful food while supporting the health and wellness of Black and brown communities.
