Reverie Baking Co. is an independent bakery and café located at 2021 Winnebago St. in Madison’s Atwood neighborhood, officially opened in April 2023. Co-owned by Debbie Buchanan, Gwen Shales, and Kyle Johnson, the business specializes in house-made biscuits, sourdough bread, and seasonally rotating pastries alongside quality Kin-Kin coffee and house-made syrups. The bakery operates daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and occupies the former home of Madison’s Arts + Literature Laboratory, which was renovated with natural light and reclaimed wood elements that reflect the owners’ commitment to craftsmanship and community character.
