Mean Greens Café

Mean Greens Café is the first 100% vegan dining hall in the country, located at 902 Avenue C in Denton, Texas, serving the University of North Texas community since 2011. The café offers rotating plant-based menus featuring fresh, flavorful dishes from around the world, including Vietnamese pho, Mediterranean fare, fried rice bars, and made-to-order items like seitan and paninis. The venue operates Mean Green Acres, a hydroponic garden in a sustainably designed freight trailer that produces up to 750 heads of non-GMO lettuce weekly while reducing the facility’s carbon footprint and food shipments.
