SDSU Dairy Bar

The SDSU Dairy Bar, located on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings, is an educational enterprise operated by students in the Dairy and Food Science program. Attached to the Davis Dairy Plant, the Dairy Bar produces and serves homemade ice cream with more than 30 rotating flavors, along with milk, coffee, and other dairy products like cheese and butter, all made on-site using the university’s cow-to-cone process. With a history spanning over a century of ice cream production at SDSU, the Dairy Bar has become a notable local destination, even recognized by Food Network Magazine, and serves both students and visitors during weekday business hours.
