Basil & Bunny is a plant-based fast-casual restaurant located at 500 Wood Street in Bristol’s Unity Park, founded in 2020 by Lyslie Smith and Mathiew Medeiros. The business began as a two-person food trailer and expanded to its brick-and-mortar location due to customer enthusiasm for plant-based comfort food, earning recognition as Rhode Island Monthly Magazine readers’ choice for “Best Food Truck” two years in a row. They serve entirely plant-based menu items including burgers, crispy seitan sandwiches, grain bowls, and hand-cut fries, all made from fresh, local ingredients prepared from scratch.
