Mis Tacones

Mis Tacones is a 100% vegan Chicano and queer-owned taquería located at 1670 NE Killingsworth Street in Northeast Portland. Founded in 2016 by Los Angeles natives Carlos Reynoso and Polo Bañuelos, the restaurant evolved from a pop-up into a brick-and-mortar establishment in 2022, serving authentic Mexican street food made entirely with plant-based ingredients, including hand-pressed tortillas and house-made seitan. Beyond its culinary excellence—earning recognition as the best vegan Mexican restaurant in the country by VegNews—Mis Tacones is dedicated to social justice, offering free meals to trans people of color as part of its mission to integrate identity, culture, and community through food.
