Savory Bake House

Located at 3008 36th Ave. S. in the Longfellow neighborhood, Savory Bake House is a cult-favorite independent bakery specializing in from-scratch rustic baking with both sweet and savory offerings, including hand pies, brioche, pastries, and quiches. Founded by food industry veterans Sandra Sherva and Max Okray, the bakery operates Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon and is known for its limited daily menu and frequent sellouts. Following the 2020 uprising on East Lake Street, the owners partnered with local organizations like the Safe Haven Encampment to provide meals and support to community members affected by the pandemic and civil unrest.
