Cajou Plant-Based Ice Cream
About
Cajou Creamery, located at 411 N Howard Street in downtown Baltimore, is the first Black-owned plant-based ice cream shop in the U.S., founded by husband-and-wife duo Dwight Campbell and Nicole Foster. The creamery creates hand-crafted ice cream from cashew milk and offers globally-inspired flavors free from dairy, soy, and artificial ingredients. Campbell and Foster began their culinary journey six years prior selling their products at markets and restaurants before opening their flagship storefront in August 2021, inspired by wanting to provide dairy-free ice cream options for their lactose-intolerant children.
