Planet Vegan

Planet Vegan is a 100% plant-based restaurant located at 7845 N. Palm Ave., Suite 108, in Fresno, California, that specializes in gourmet vegan burgers and nostalgic plant-based comfort food. Founded as a food truck in 2019 by Robert January, Joe Ellis, and Mike McElroy, the business expanded to a permanent storefront location in 2024 and has earned recognition from PETA as one of the top Black-owned vegan restaurants in the United States. The Fresno community rallied around Planet Vegan after a devastating truck fire in 2022 that injured co-founder Ellis, raising over $73,000 to support the team’s recovery and eventual reopening.
